Expected Changes in CAT 2018

in Admission Corner by
After 2011, this year IIM Calcutta will conduct Common Admission Test (CAT.) Certain changes are being expected in the procedure of CAT once the name of convenor is announced.
  • The main change being expected is the change in the number of non-MCQ questions. These questions help students to attempt more questions and thus was reduced to 25 questions in 2016.
  • The second change being expected is the change in exam-taking days. Looking at the chaos caused last year and increasing number of applicants, it is getting difficult to conduct the exam in a day. However, increasing the days will probably increase the chance of paper leakage and circulation.
  • The third change is expected to benefit students as IIM Calcutta is like to increase the number of mock and practice tests it releases and that too, earlier than the usual time. This year, the mock test shall be available in the month of September 2018 to make exam more aspirants friendly and transparent.
IIM Calcutta is the only management Institute in India that has been accredited by all the 3 reputed International accreditations of AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS. Moreover, it has been ranked number 3 in Management schools and number 34 in overall NIRF 2018 Ranking.
