Finally a month of brainstorming, hard-work and exertion came to standstill when the Vivekananda School Of Economics
Amity Law School, Delhi, one of the best law schools in the country has disaffiliated itself with GGSIPU. Therefore, Amity Law School (ALS) shall not be participating in the counselling and admission procedure to be held in the coming week, commencing from June 11 for admission in B.A. LL.B (Hons) programme.
The rumours of the de-affiliation have been present for a year and a half, but the news was recently confirmed in the official notification released by the University.
Students of ALS believe it is a chain of events that have led to this extreme step. All of this started when a student of the college committed suicide, which followed protests for justice. Finally, the Dean and De-facto Dean resigned.
The consequences of this de-affiliation may be manifold, but it doesn’t affect the fee structure or the degree of students who are already enrolled in previous batches. Whether this de-affiliation will bring campus and staff change or not, is yet to be observed.
