Breaking news for metro commuters: Delhi Metro starts its first ever pink line that connects North campus to Durgabai Deshmukh in South Campus. Operating from next week, this metro will make the life of Delhi University life easier as it will take less than 45 minutes to reach North Campus from South Campus.
This 59km long line will be operational in full swing with A1 modern metro facilities covering 12 stops including Majlis Park, Azadpur, Shalimar Bagh, Netaji Subhash Place, Shakurpur, Punjabi Bagh West, ESI Hospital, Rajouri Garden, Mayapuri, Naraina Vihar, Delhi Cantt and finally Durgabai DeshMukh South Campus. This includes yellow line station at Azadpur,Rajouri Garden for Blue Line, Netaji Shubash place for Red Line and in the end Durgabai Deshmukh Campus for Orange Line.
After the completion, this newly launched metro becomes a part of Delhi Metro Phase 3 Network, that is 38 metro stations.
This metro line has undergone testing and trials and adding to the boon of the daily commuters, this will be the very first metro network sporting a high-class technology, that is the first ever travelator(moving walk away)
One of the latest projects of DMRC, the pink line will be totally operational from June 2018 and it will surely help in decongesting the rest of the metro stations and the lines across the city.
