The anticipated admissions to Delhi University for academic session 2018-19 will begin from May 15 with the opening of the registration process on the admission portal for 75 Undergraduate (UG) programmes.
Registration for as many as 72 courses of the Postgraduate programme (PG) will begin from May 18. Also, the registration for the postgraduate diploma in Cybersecurity and Law will begin on the same date. While registration for the research programme, both Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Master in Philosophy (M.Phil) will begin from May 20.
This year, the applicant can register for merit-based as well as entrance based courses on the same portal through one application. Since a majority of students apply for the admissions are from Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the details of an applicant’s mark in XII will be automatically captured by the software from the database provided by the CBSE, once a student enters his/her roll number and other details. CBSE results for class XII are expected on 28 May.
Further, five years integrated course in Journalism has been added as a new course in the portal.
The DU will hold Open Days session for the aspiring students for admissions from May 21 to May 29 except on Sunday in the Conference Centre, North Campus of DU. The Open Days will have two sessions from 10 am to 11.30 am and 12 noon to 1.30 pm. “In these open days session information about registration, admission process, schedule and other related information will be provided,” said press release from the Registrar of DU.
In the open days after a short presentation, expert comments of panelists representing various departments of the University will follow.
For the admissions in the sports category, applicants can now upload three best certificates instead of only one. The three certificates have to be uploaded as three separate documents.
