Nishtha Dudeja, a commerce graduate from Sri Venkateshwara College, University of Delhi was crowned Miss India Deaf 2018. 22 year old Dudeja won the coveted title in Jaipur on 26th February 2018.
The three day pageant from 24th to 26th February was organised by Rajputana Deaf Arts and Culture Society (RDACS) in collaboration with All India Deaf Arts and Culture Society (AIDACS).
A resident of Delhi, Dudeja also won the title of Best Hairstyle along with mesmerising the audience with her bhangra. When asked what were her plans if she won the pageant, she replied,  “If I win the title of Miss Deaf India, my immediate goal will be to win Miss Deaf World for my country which I believe I can win if I get enough practice. In long term, I want to work for public welfare.”
Speaking of beauty pageants, we always focus on whether the beauty has brains. But Nishtha Dudeja is a beauty with brains. She has represented India in lawn tennis during the Deaflympics 2013 (held in Bulgaria), the World Deaf Tennis Championship 2015 (held in the UK), and the Deaflympics 2017 (held in Turkey).
