Shiv Nadar University Admissions 2018: Key Facts about the Admission Process

Shiv Nadar University is a multi-disciplinary university which offers a wide range of courses at undergraduate, postgraduate and doctorate level. It was founded in 2011. The university operates through five different schools:
School of Engineering (SoE)
School of Natural Sciences
School of Humanities and Social Sciences
School of Management and Entrepreneurship (SoME)
School of Extended Education and Professional Development

Admission Criteria 

Admission to B.Tech, BA, B.Sc and BMS courses is offered on the basis of candidates’ performance in 10+2 followed by  SNUSAT and APT.

JEE Main (score ≥ 120) qualified candidates are also eligible to apply for B.Tech program.

The university conducts separate written Test and interviews to grant admission in M.Tech course.

Apart from the university-based written test, candidates can also apply on the basis of GATE (score ≥ 75) to secure admission in M.Tech.

Written Test and exemplary performance in Bachelor’s degree is mandatory to secure admission in MA and M.Sc courses.


M.Des admission is offered on the basis of Design Aptitude Test (DAT) followed by portfolio presentation while CEED qualified candidates are also eligible to apply.

MFA admission is granted on the basis of portfolio presentation followed by an interview.

MBA admission is subject to a valid score in CAT/ GMAT/ CMAT/ NMAT/ CMAT or Shiv Nadar University Management Aptitude Test (SMAT) followed by an interview.

Shiv Nadar University conducts its own written test and interviews to offer admission in Ph.D. programs while CSIR/ UGC NET/ JRF or GATE score holders can also apply.

SNU Application Form

The candidates are instructed to read the information brochure before proceeding to fill the application form.

  • The Application form can be filled through online mode only.
  • The application form is available from the 1st April 2018 for UG courses.
  • Candidates can apply till the 28th May 2018.
  • The last date to fill MBA application is 15th April 2018.
  • Candidates are required to fill all the details carefully and accurately.
  • Candidates are instructed that after submission of online application form, keep the printout of it.
  • If the candidate is applying based on CAT/GMAT/NMAT/XAT score for MBA course, they have to enter their registration number of the respective qualifying examination.

Application Fee: Candidates have to pay the non-refundable fee of Rs. 1,200/-. The application fee can be remitted through credit card, debit card, and Demand Draft.

The demand draft will be drawn in favor of Shiv Nadar University, payable at Noida. The Demand Draft has to be sent to the address:

SNUSAT 2018 Process 

SNUSAT and APT 2018 will consist of registration, slot booking, written test:

STEP 1: SNUSAT 2018 application form

Application forms are accepted online only. To be able to apply, the candidate needs to login to the official website as a new user. To sign in as a new user, the candidate will have to enter a valid email ID. Once the login is successfully created the candidate can log in and access the form.

STEP 2: SNUSAT 2018 slot booking

On registration, the candidates will be given the choice to book their slot to take the exam. The candidates can select time, date and venue as per their convenience. However, the slot will be granted only on the basis of availability.

STEP 3: SNUSAT and APT 2018

SNUSAT and APT is a 3 hrs long computer-delivered test in which each candidate gets a randomly generated exam from a pool of questions. The exam is a scholastic aptitude test of Class 10 level.

STEP 4: SNUSAT and APT 2018 result

SNU-SAT and APT results will be announced in two phases. The candidates will be able to check their results on the official website. They will be required to log on to the official website with their respective user IDs to be able to access their results.

    • Jun 25 – Last date to take SNUSAT 2018 Round 2 (Subject to availability of seats)

  • Jul 02 – Release of selection list Round 2 (Subject to availability of seats)
  • Jul 08 – Fee submission Round 2 (Subject to availability of seats)
  • Jul 12 – Date of registration for admission

SNUSAT 2018 Pattern

SNUSAT is a scholastic aptitude test of class 10 level conducted in online mode. SNUSAT 2018 will consist multiple choice questions (except essay) from the following topics:

Verbal Reasoning 30 mins
Quantitative Ability 36 mins
Abstract Reasoning 40 mins
Essay 15 mins


The computer displays questions one at a time. Only after a candidate takes an action on the first question, will the computer display the next question.

Apart from SNUSAT, the candidate will have to take the one-hour APT or the Academic Proficiency Test. The APT for each course will be different depending on the course selected.
APT for BMS course will consist of critical writing. The duration will be 60 mins.

SNU Final Admission 2018
The final admission will be given on the basis of academic records, national level entrance exam score and the exam conducted by the university. Candidates those will reach the cut off marks set by the university will only be eligible for the admission. Candidates have to submit the admission fee to get the admission letter.
