What a student dreads most has come to pass : Ambedkar University of Delhi has cutoffs touching 100% for a few subjects this year. Commerce students of Delhi aspiring to pursue subjects like sociology and history at the university are being asked for a whopping 100% by the university. The cutoff is above 90% in most subjects even for students of arts and science background. The only exception is Economics(Hons) where the cutoff for arts students from Delhi is at 89%.

Since Ambedkar University is a State University, 85% seats are reserved only for Delhi students. For outsiders, the 100% cutoff is for the following courses- B.A.(Hons) in English, History, Psychology, Sociology, and Humanities and Social Sciences. This is for those students who were in the commerce stream in class 12. 100% marks are being demanded even from science students for the subjects of psychology and sociology. The cutoff remains at 100% for commerce students in history, English and humanities and social sciences.

Ambedkar University releases different cutoffs for different streams and also releases separate cutoff lists for Delhi and non-Delhi students. From this year onwards, the admissions will be happening at the Kashmere Gate and Karampura campus. An official from the university was quoted as saying, “This time we released the merit list for all subjects.”

The university has received thrice the number of applications it received last year for its numerous undergraduate courses. To be precise, a total of 26,777 applications were received by the varsity for the total 445 seats in both the campuses. The university had received 9,778 applications, last year. Students who have scored 100% marks, enjoy the campus! Students who have not, better luck next time.

University Express wishes you all, all the very best.
