5 Movies That Awaken The Traveller In You

Travelling does not only mean exploring places, trying new cuisines and having the time of your life, it’s something more. It’s about finding your own self sometimes. It is to get out and look beyond the illusions of power and money; and live what actually is life!

Here’s a list of 5 such movies that will awaken the traveller and adventurer in you and inspire you to live big and live free:

Sean Penn’s Into The Wild is an adaptation of a 1996 non-fiction book, based on the travels of a top student and athlete, Christopher McCandless, who abandons all his belongings and sets forth to live in pure wilderness. Some time when you lose faith in society and feel like being a total anarchist, go watch this movie! Trust me, it has not just inspired travellers, but poets and writers too.

  • The Motorcycle Diaries (2004)the-motorcycle-diaries-movie-poster-min

Another one of the most inspiring and adventurous movies of all time, The Motorcycle Diaries is about the journey and written memoir of Ernesto Che Guevara. Initially centred around youthful desperation of going out and seeing places, Guevara finds himself transformed by his observations during the journey, as the adventure unfolds. What he sees, affects him so much, that by the end of it all he knows where his heart is. Interesting much? The best part is, he’s travelling miles on his motorcycle!

  • The Beach (2000)

Danny Boyle’s The Beach is the story of a boy in his mid twenties, who travels to Thailand and gets possession of a strange map that leads to a solitary beach paradise. Curious, he sets out to look for it! A very engrossing movie indeed. So this weekend, your place or theirs?

Do you daydream of adventures while sitting behind a desk, working? This comedy-drama adventure film is for a lighthearted look at the adventurous spirit, after all these movies. On the lookout of a missing photograph, Walter has some gorgeous moments of his life!
