Gargi College is one the top colleges of South Campus which completed its Golden Jubilee last year in 2016. It was established in 1967 and currently has courses in all departments of Science, Humanities and Commerce. But just because it is South Campus, doesn’t mean it lacks the charm of many of the North Campus colleges. Let’s give you a sneak-peak into the world of Gargi College!

The alumni is well known, too. If you have seen Dangal, then you must know that actress Sanya Malhotra is from this college; and so are Urvashi Rautela and Huma Qureshi! Gargi aims to provide a holistic development environment with myriad of societies and clubs to choose from.
Mode of Admission: Cut-off based admission like other DU colleges with 15% reservation for SC, 7.5% for ST and 27% for OBC Candidates.
Celebrity love oozes out all year long:
Gargi college has one of the most happening fest – Reverie, with quite amazing guests. This year they had Urvashi Rautela and Ratna Pathak Shah. And don’t forget, they also had Hrithik Roshan in their college to promote his film. Incredible, right?And, Gargi College has one of the most astounding and fun way to reveal their artists for the fest. The banners are opened in a complete royal fashion from the terrace.
What sets it Apart:
Gargi College is undoubtedly famous for its ‘Tehelka’ Sandwich from the Nescafe and Masala Dosa too. As weird it sounds, sometimes people from North Campus travel all the way to South Campus to Gargi, just to eat it! Apart from this, the Street Play society – Kshitij and Choreography Society – Sparx are also the ones that one needs to look out for.
Thinking About the future – Career Prospects:
The Placement Cell of Gargi College is considered to be one of the active units. It organizes Seminars, Pre-Placement seminars and of course Recruitment Drives. Aptitude Tests are also a huge part of this cell, for example the cell recently conducted an aptitude test in collaboration with NITAT. Pre-placement seminars are organised by Gandhi Fellowship, Teach for India and Oberoi Group. Companies like Evalueserve, S&P, Capital IQ, Ernst & Young, KPMG, Smart Cube and Genpac etc come for placements where as the average package is of 5-6 Lacs per annum.
