No more running around to get admission documents attested, no more standing in long lines to get your marksheets or waiting for days to get your transcripts ; DU is set to become the first Indian University to go completely online in delivering documents – procurement of which used to be a cumbersome business till now. Come July 1 graduates from Delhi University (DU) will be able to apply for their degree certificates, marksheets, migration certificates, attestations and transcripts online! A hassle free life for a DU student from now on, but the cherry on the cake is that the university will also deliver the transcripts or migration certificates and even the verified copies to the desired destinations (university, employer, visa agencies etc).
The DU online process would make collecting certificates or a duplicate copy or transcripts of the DU degree much easier. All an alumnus of any department, college, centre or institution affiliated with the university needs to do is submit the enrolment number, examination roll number, select the category (type of documents sought) and make the payment online.
Satish Kumar, officer on special duty, examination branch, DU said, “Things have never been so easy, while the application process has been made online, for security purpose, certificates will have to be collected personally. However, the university will deliver the migration certificates to the desired educational institution directly if so desired.” It will make the admission process of an outstation student elsewhere so much easier.
Kumar further elaborated, “Moreover, electronic copies of transcripts as well as verified degree certificates could be delivered to desired destinations online. We are also introducing online attestation of certificates.”
Kumar also specified the details of the same saying, “For delivery to service employers, visa agencies and universities, once an applicant applies for a document, a password – in the form of personal identification number – will be generated, which will be shared with the respective agency/ institution who could then access the verified documents.”
Explaining the application process, Kumar said that for degree and duplicate degree certificates an applicant simply has to put in his/ her examination roll number and enrolment number. For transcripts, one also needs to upload the examination roll numbers of all the three years (in case of three-year undergraduate programmes) and the marksheets.
