Quo Vadis, the annual Management-Cultural fest of Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, Delhi, is the pride of the Institute, not only because it’s one of the largest college fest in North India because the students of the institute take this opportunity to include the less fortunate in their celebrations. This is done through various social initiatives conducted as part of the fest, ranging over a course of time. These include events like IIFT Marathon, Udaan etc.
One of the most awaited pre-events of Quo Vadis ’17 is IIFT Marathon, the annual marathon organized by the student fraternity. This is a one of a kind flagship event that was organized on the 12th of November this year and was greeted with great enthusiasm by the youth of the city. The aim of the organizers is not just to promote fitness and healthy activities among the youth of Delhi, but also to spread the message of Youth Empowerment.
The theme for QuoVadis 2017 was Empowering the Youth. IIFT‘s Marathon was the official inaugural event to launch this theme. The Marathon was flagged off from Jawaharlal Nehru University’s (JNU) North Gate at 7 AM sharp. The event consisted of 4 races – 5.5km (Men & Women), 11.5 km (Men & Women). With more than 400 runners having taken part, the marathon saw people participating from across the UG and PG colleges of Delhi NCR.
This year IIFT Marathon was associated Aarohan NGO. Children from the NGO Aarohan participated in large numbers and they enjoyed the run to the fullest.
