The latest FT business school rankings 2017 are out, and among the Indian schools that have done well, ISB leads the way up two spots from last year at #27 (APAC rank#6). IIM Ahmedabad dropped 5 points to rank just below ISB at #28 (APAC rank #7). However, one interesting point to note is that in terms of weighted salaries as of today, IIM Ahmedabad ranks #2 globally just below Stanford GSB, implying that graduates from IIM Ahmedabad are one of the top paid graduates in the world if PPP is taken into account. Other schools to fare in the rankings are IIM Bangalore (#49), and IIM Calcutta (#95). This is for the first time that IIM Bangalore has entered the top 50 club and IIM Calcutta gets featured in the ranking.
FT rankings are considered to be based on a lot of metrics, such as academic research, career services rank, alumni recommendations and so on. It is important to note that not all metrics might be relevant to you while taking an application decision. Hence, it is best to see these rankings by adding your filtration criteria that best meets your requirement. For example, weighted salaries might be a more important metric for you, or say academic research is something that you might be looking for from a business school.
INSEAD tops the list for the second consecutive year. Other top spots have been taken by Stanford GSB, Wharton and Harvard Business School.
