Commuters at the Rajiv Chowk Metro Station were totally flabbergasted when the Led screen installed on the platform meant for broadcasting advertisements changed to a pornographic clip which lasted for less than a minute on the 9th April, Sunday. While some passengers failed to take notice of it, the others recorded the footage on their mobile phones and made it viral on social media. An investigation committee has been set up for interrogating if the video shared online is original and who may be responsible for it, said a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation spokesperson. “The DMRC is not aware about the clip. This LED screen was under commissioning and testing by a private contractor. We will check all the details of the commissioning process to see whether such a clip was played on the LED screen and take adequate safeguards/action,” pronounced a statement from Anuj Dayal, spokesman of DMRC.
While the Delhi police said that no official complaint has been registered so far on the matter, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) responsible for the security concerns of the metro station validated the occurrence of the incident. A similar incident was reported in Wayanad district, Kerala where passengers waiting at the Kalpetta bus stand happen to see sexually explicit video on the screen. Well, it seems Rajiv Chowk station has the potential to take people by surprise, earlier by its disorganized crowd crushing each other, and now with its displayed content.
