Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (M) celebrated Bhagat Singh’s 111th birth anniversary on 27th September. The event was organised by the college’s cultural council. The poet of ‘Veer ras’- Shri Gajendra Solanki was invited as the cheif guest for this special occasion. The day started with the flag hoisting ceremony, followed by paying tribute to Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh. Then the principal, Dr. P. K. Khurana welcomed and addressed the chief guest, teachers and the students.
The function kicked off with the entertaining cultural performances. A stunning painting of Bhagat Singh, made by the fine arts society, was unveiled by Shri Gajendra Solanki and the principal. This was followed by an inspiring speech by the guest, Shri Gajendra Solanki, about patriotism and the unconditional sacrifice made by Bhagat Singh to get us the freedom that we have today, along with his beautiful self composed poems. A vote of thanks was given the convenor of Cultural Council, Dr Ruchi Gupta. The patriotic event ended with everyone paying tribute to Bhagat Singh, followed by the National anthem.
