The results of the Union Public Service Commission examination that was held in December’15 have been declared. A total of 1,078 candidates, including 499 in General category, 314 belonging to Other Backward Class, 176 from Scheduled Caste and 89 from Scheduled Tribe, have been recommended for appointment to various central government services, reports the Indian Express.
Acing the exam and securing the first rank is 22-year-old Tina Dabi. Hailing from the capital of the country, Dabi completed her graduation from Lady Shri Ram College. “It is indeed a proud moment for me,” she said.
Coming in second is railway officer Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan from Jammu & Kashmir. This was the 23-year-old’s second attempt at the test. In his first attempt in 2014, he had got Indian Railway Traffic Service (IRTS). Acknowledging that this feat is like a dream come true, Athar said that, “I will not leave any stone unturned to work for the betterment of people”.
Besides them, Delhi-based Jasmeet Singh Sandhu, an Indian Revenue Service officer, has secured third position. Jasmeet Singh Sandhu, Artika Shukla and Shashank Tripathi were third, fourth and fifth on the toppers’ list, reports The Times of India.
